I'm not happy when my food is tasteless, dull or we reach for the salt shaker to add some flavor. I turn to my spice rack to add something extra, a little zing, a fresh, well-seasoned taste... Penzeys Spices doesn't disappoint. I have many favorites but here are two, both are salt-free and flavorful.
Mural of Flavor - good on everything that needs a flavor boost!
Penzeys recommends for chicken, fish, pork and beef. Add to soups, rice and potatoes. Shake over tomatoes, corn, popcorn and eggs. I frequently add it to salads, sauces and vegetables.
Hand mixed from shallots, onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, basil, coriander, lemon peel, citric acid, black pepper, chives, green peppercorns, dill weed and orange peel.
Florida Seasoned Pepper
Coarse grained citrus and pepper with a zesty tang. Hand mixed from Tellicherry black pepper, lemon peel, orange peel, citric acid, garlic and onion. The tartness enhances the perception of the naturally occurring salts in foods. Penzeys recommends this spice for roast turkey or sauteed turkey breast cutlets, or boneless, skinless chicken breasts, veal or pork cutlets, or fish fillets.
Penzeys is nationwide and I love to visit their store in Falls Church at 513 West Broad Street.
